Stucco moulding in a Modern Interior

a

Before the decorative elements of the walls, ceiling and skirting board were made of plaster.
Gradually gypsum began to be replaced with polyurethane. And today stucco decoration has taken pride of place not only in classic but also in modern interiors.

Most often, stucco moulding in the interior is presented in the form of decorative cornices, skirting boards and mouldings. Each of the above elements conceals a whole world of patterns, textures and compositions. The stucco decoration is distinguished by the material from which it is made and its application.

Styrofoam is the most budgetary: it is quite moisture resistant, lightweight and easy to install, but very fragile. The polyurethane is considered as more durable and aesthetic material. It is durable and moisture resistant, has a good texture.

The ornament always looks beautiful in rooms with high ceilings, adding lightness and depth to them. It is important that the smaller the room, the less decorative frills should be seen in the stucco moulding. In modern interiors stucco moulding is increasingly appearing not only on walls and ceilings, but also on other large elements – windows and doors.
